Abstract

The objective of this experiment was to study the influence of sulfur fertilizer and water hyacinth bokashi on soil pH, available-S, available-Fe, and yield of paddy rice  grown on Chromic Hapluderts. The experiment was conducted from November 2010 to February 2011 at Green House of Balai Pelatihan Pertanian Cihea Cianjur, elevated at 298 metres above sea level. The experiment was arranged in a Randomized Completely Block Design of Factorial Pattern. The first factor was sulfur fertilizer comprises of : without sulfur (s0), 20 kg ha-1 S (s1), 40 kg ha-1 S (s2), and 60 kg ha-1 S (s4). The second factor was water hyacinth bokashi comprises of : without bokashi (b0), 15 t ha-1 bokashi (b1), 30 t ha-1 bokashi (b2), and 45 t ha-1 bokashi (b3).  The result of experiment showed that there was an interaction effect between sulfur fertilizer and water hyacinth bokashi on available-S, and available-Fe, but not on pH and yield of paddy rice. Water hyacinth bokashi give an independent effect on yield of paddy rice.  The maximum dry seed weight (111.37 g pot-1 or 17.8 t ha-1) were achieve by 15.26 kg ha-1 S and 41.08 t ha-1 water hyacinth bokashi.

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the soil chemical characteristics of the soil and soil fertility status at the home yard and farm lands in several villages of West Kutai District.The experiment was conducted for 3 (three) months, from April 2013 to July 2013 in the villages of Muut and Dempar of Nyuatan Sub District, Purwodadi Village of Linggang Bigung Sub District; Sumber Sari Village of Barong Tongkok Sub District, and Melak Ilir Village of West Kutai District. This study used survey system, followed by soil sampling compositely at a depth of 0-20cm.  The composite soil samples were then analyzed in the laboratory.The main data that were collected include soil pH, organic C, total N, the C/N ratio, available P, cation-exchangeable base cations, CEC, base saturation, and saturation Aluminum.  The data were analyzed using soil chemical status assessment criteria and soil fertility assessment criteria of Bogor Soil Research Center. The results showed that: (1) the character of the soil chemical properties at home yard and farm land at several villages in West Kutai District, namely: soil pH is very acidic to acidic, organic C content is low to high, N total is low to moderate, C/N ratio is moderate to high, available P is very low to moderate, CEC is relatively very low, base cations classified as very low to moderate, and Al saturation is low to very high; and (2) the status of soil chemical fertility in the home yard and farm land at several villages in West Kutai District is classified as very low to low.

Abstract

Banjarmasin covered by swamp area almost 32 %. Accumulation of organic waste make this area looks not clean fully especially around people’s house. The people tend burn them to make its look clean, but they dont know how danger it is. Less knowledge as principally factor. They dont know that they cause ISPA, air pollution, and danger one is burning disaster. The way to overcome this   by make them be a valuable thing by compost them to be compost fertilizer. In this research, compost fertilizer  was made by addition EM4 activator and compered by cow waste dan commercial fertilizer. Composting by using EM4 is faster 20 days at water content 40.06 %, pH 7.3, Organic C 20%, totally nitrogen 1.51%, P 1.50%,  K 2.66%, Fe 0.75%, dan Zn 89 ppm and still fullfill SNI qualification.  This Compost fertilizer give positive effect to the plant.

Abstract

This study is aimed to acknowledge the study of the effect  of storage lenght  of palm leaf silage to Crude Protein and Crude Fiber was conducted at Pleihari, Tanah Laut District and Agriculture Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty of Lambung Mangkurat University. This Research showed that storage lenght of palm leaf silage could be affect significantly to crude fiber, but not significantly to crude protein. The storage lenght of palm leaf silage after 35 days could be   decreased   crude fiber content.

Abstract

This study aims to gain an overview of genetic distances based on the characterization of The Giant Freshwater Prawn, with survey research methods. The results of the analysis of genetic distances showed Barito River broodstock have different characteristics with broodstock Kintap and Pagatan.  Broodstock Kintap and Pagatan still have similar characteristics.
